The self-winding “Spezimatic” men’s wristwatch model was manufactured by VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB for short). The watch was available with or without date display.
The watch features a lever movement, 26 jewels, a large train wheel bridge, a separately detachable spring barrel and an indirect centre second hand. The movement diameter is 28 mm and the height is 5.05 mm for watches without a date display and 5.55 mm for watches with a date display.
Around four million watches and movements were produced and sold between 1964 and 1980. Watches with a gilded movement in a 14-carat-gold case were supplied in small quantities.
