Loans & Donations

The aim of the “German Watch Museum Glashütte – Nicolas G. Hayek” foundation is to promote art and culture, science and research, and education in the field of watchmaking craftsmanship. With the German Watch Museum Glashütte, the restoration workshop, the specialist library and the archive – as well as through various projects and activities – watchmaking expertise, valuable documents and unique exhibits worldwide are preserved and made accessible to the wider public.

In the cultural arena, the foundation is particularly involved in expanding the collection with its own purchases and loans. The diversity of the Glashütte art of watchmaking should be presented to returning visitors by means of varying exhibits in the permanent exhibition, as well as treated thematically in special exhibitions.

Do you own a Glashütte watch with a special history? We would be grateful for the chance to tell our visitors this story.

The foundation is a non-profit institution; donations for promoting the foundation’s aims are tax-deductible. For gifts, monetary donations or donations in kind, as well as loans, we ask you to get in contact with us. Upon request, we are happy to issue donation receipts.
