The Antique Watch Market at the German Watch Museum Glashütte was once again a magnet for visitors this year. We were able to welcome more than 800 guests in total – an increase on last year, when around 600 visitors came. Once again, there was a very wide range of watches of all kinds and the corresponding accessories such as spare parts, tools, cases and specialised literature. In the museum and in the specially erected tent on the museum forecourt, 34 dealers presented their wares, including some from Austria and the Czech Republic and, for the first time, one from Hungary.
As both dealers and visitors are always very impatient to finally get started with the market, especially in the morning hours, this year’s market started at 9.00 am. Shortly after the opening, all the tables were packed and there was lively trading, buying and exchanging. It was not until the afternoon that things calmed down a little and the dealers were visibly satisfied with their sales. Numerous guests at the watch market also took advantage of the opportunity to visit the exhibition at the watch museum and take part in a free guided tour of Glashütte’s watch history at 2.00 pm.
Next year will see the 10th Glashütte Antique Watch Market, the anniversary edition of this traditional event. The date has already been fixed. It will be Sunday, May 18, 2025.
