On the third weekend in October, the Erzgebirge Tourism Association organises the “Days of Traditional Crafts”. Then more than 130 manufactories, museums and associations in the Ore Mountains will open their doors again. Of course, the watchmaking trade, which has been based here in Glashütte since 1845, is not to be missed.
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, 10 am – 5 pm, the German Watch Museum Glashütte will show demonstrations of the traditional watchmaking craft. Apprentices and instructors from the Glashütte Original Watchmaking School “Alfred Helwig” will present their skills and answer questions about the training. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the employees and try their hand at the watchmaker’s table. For children, there will also be a museum quiz, a painting station and a special children’s audio guide.
Come by and experience the watchmaking trade live!
