This year, the German Watch Museum Glashütte is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its Astronomical Art Clock. It was completed in October 1925 by its builder Hermann Goertz after a good three decades of construction. To mark the occasion, a new special exhibition dedicated to the art clock will open at the Watch Museum on 11 September. Entitled “LEAP IN TIME”, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey back in time to 1925, when the clock was completed.
The special exhibition will open with the public winding of the art clock. After several months of revision of the clock, this event will take place again for the first time on 11 September. At 11 am, the head of the collections, master watchmaker Jürgen Franke, invites all visitors to the museum to attend. In addition to a look inside the otherwise closed clock case, visitors will learn a lot of interesting facts about the history and special features of this unique clock.
The new special exhibition can be viewed from 11 September during the regular opening hours of the clock museum, Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
