\nLEAP IN TIME – 100 years of the Astronomical Art Clock<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>
<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

This year we are celebrating the 100th birthday of the Astronomical Art Clock in the German Watch Museum Glash\u00fctte. It was completed in October 1925 by its builder Hermann Goertz after a good three decades of construction. To mark the occasion, we opened a special exhibition dedicated to the Art Clock in September. Entitled LEAP IN TIME, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey back in time to 1925, when the clock was completed.<\/p>\n

Various themes are used to bring the technical and social conditions of the time to life and show the challenges Hermann Goertz had to overcome while working on his masterpiece. The exhibition also provides vivid insights into the interior of the clock. For example, the perpetual calendar, the astronomical functions and the materials used in the construction of the clockwork have been selected as central elements.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is accompanied by its own app. Audio files on the individual themes allow visitors to immerse themselves even more in the time when the clock was created. Small puzzles can also be solved. Activity is also required in other ways: be it creating a technical drawing at the drawing table or trying out a 3D model of the perpetual calendar of the Art Clock.<\/p>\n

The new special exhibition can be visited during the regular opening hours of the Watch Museum.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
