Glash\u00fctte pocket watches, pendulum clocks and wristwatches from various eras, marine chronometers, historical documents, tools and photographs are staged artistically.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row us_custom_cb3c62fe via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-9 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Thematically, the exhibition consists of a series of &#8220;historical rooms&#8221;, &#8220;time rooms&#8221; and an exhibition workshop, framed by a prologue and an epilogue. The &#8220;historical rooms&#8221; deal with the historical context of the watchmaking town and introduce famous individuals and founding fathers who helped Glash\u00fctte become a stronghold of fine German horology. Throughout the exhibition, other eras that significantly shaped Glash\u00fctte are represented, such as the years of rapid industrial expansion, the First and Second World Wars, the era of disassembly and expropriation and the era of reunification and re-establishment. The &#8220;time rooms&#8221; interrupt the chronological sequence of Glash\u00fctte watchmaking history and lead the visitor off into exhibits like the microcosm of a mechanical watch, allowing them to experience the precision and interplay of hundreds of individual parts. A further multimedia &#8220;time room&#8221; containing an interactive glossary of timekeeping also invites guests to discover things for themselves.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div Its features include a perpetual calendar and several astronomical displays. It has been undergoing a special overhaul since 5 December 2024. For the first time in 100 years, parts are being replaced, which in turn had to be specially measured and manufactured for this purpose.
