And around the Museum:
Both founders, the town of Glashütte and the Glashütte Original watch manufactory, will see to it that entertainment, food and drink, as well as insights into the training and art of watchmaking, are available outside the museum on this day, too.
Through its local trade association, the town of Glashütte is organizing stands offering snacks and beverages in the forecourt of the museum, as well as extra attractions for children. A number of Glashütte companies and local businesses will be open on this Sunday.
On this day, Glashütte Original will provide fascinating insights into the watchmaking factory’s traditional collection. You can look forward to the presentation of the news for 2009 and observe
a watchmaker close-up during a live presentation. Seated at his watchmaking table, he will provide
an insight into the interior of these exclusive timepieces and into his traditional craftsmanship.
The School of Watchmaking “Alfred Helwig” of Glashütte Original, which is equally housed in the building of the museum, will also take part in the Museum Day and open its doors from 10am – 4pm.
Students and teachers of the school will be available in the rooms of the school to talk about
the watchmaker training and provide insights into the teaching curriculum.
